The former school has been converted into affordable apartments. More than half serve as permanent supportive housing for Opening Doors graduates while the remainder are available to the public.
MARITA THEISEN CHILDCARE CENTER
The former rectory is currently transforming into a childcare center that is critically needed for downtown Dubuque families.
The campus will be transformed into a beautiful green space with a playground and opportunities for community events and public art.
COMMUNITY EVENT CENTER (FIRST FLOOR)
The first floor of the former church is now a multi-purpose space for events, community building, and arts/culture.
EDUCATION PROGRAMS (GROUND FLOOR)
The ground floor of the former church will house hands-on education and certificate programs to support career pathways. Some of these will include restoration, carpentry, and culinary arts.
